According to local media reports, enterprises from North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region concluded deals involving around 2.3 million tons of goods at the 2nd China Grain Trade Conference held in Zhengzhou, capital of Central China's Henan province.

A total of 99 Inner Mongolian enterprises participated in the exhibition, exhibiting over 200 varieties of grain and oilseeds. As of the end of the conference on June 23, exhibitors had completed a total of 2.3 million tons of grain and oilseed transactions and purchased 7.6 million yuan ($1.1 million) in processing equipment.

The region has also signed regional cooperation agreements with Guangdong and Hainan provinces.

In recent years, the grain planting area in Inner Mongolia has remained at over 85 million mu (5.67 million hectares), and 35.55 billion kilograms of grain were produced in 2018. In addition to staple crops such as corn, rice, and wheat, many varieties of high-quality coarse cereals, beans, and oilseeds are also grown, making the region one of the top agricultural centers in the country.
