Lushunkou promotes garbage sorting

The spotlight was trained on current state of garbage in Lushunkou in Dalian, with an inspection of the refuse sorting system on June 17 in the city in northeastern Liaoning province led by Leng Xuefeng, mayor of Lushunkou, who was accompanied by officials from relevant authorities.

Leng said that strengthening the comprehensive management of garbage was a major and a practical matter that concerned people's livelihoods and impacted the daily lives of millions of households.

The mayor added that it was important to employ various methods to provide people with all the information on how to classify their refuse, to establish a long-term mechanism for garbage sorting and to encourage the active participation of residents in the process.
