Tourism revenue of Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province totaled 6.3 million yuan ($935,500) during the Labor Day holiday, according to the Quzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism.

The Chinese city entertained more than 220,000 tourists from home and abroad from May 1 to 4.

In the first three days of the holiday, the number of visitors to the 13 scenic spots joining the Free to Tour Quzhou Attractions activity increased to 120,000, 90.7 percent higher than the figure for last year's three-day Labor Day holiday.

In addition to the regular tourists from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, the number from Jiangxi, Fujian and Anhui provinces rose by more than 50 percent year-on-year.

Thanks to promotion activities by Quzhou's culture, radio, television and tourism bureau in Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang, tours from Hangzhou to Quzhou were 30 percent higher in number than those to other cities in the province.

The gradual perfect smart tourism platform developed by the culture, radio, television and tourism bureau made visits to Quzhou more convenient.

Just a few clicks at the bureau's official WeChat account make tourist flow, local cuisine, maps, hotels and other information available.

In order to offer more convenient service for tourists, the parking lots and dining halls of government offices, State-owned enterprises and public institutions were open to the public during the holiday.

As of May 4, the dining halls had received 1,694 tourists and all the free parking spots were fully occupied each day.
