Jinan Thomas International School is located at the Hanyu block of Jinan Innovation Zone, 1.5 kilometers on the extending line of Fenghuang Road. The campus covers 7.7 hectares with overall floorage of 115,000 square meters. It's a private international school from year 1 to year 12, with consistent system of 12 years' schooling. The school is one of the major projects listed by the Jinan government to improve the environment of investment promotion, to enhance supply-side reform of the education sector and, more importantly, to be the first real international school in Jinan.

The school carries out to the letter the regulations of the newly revised Private Education Promotion Law, and relevant provisions for the establishment of modern school management systems. Structured inquiry takes place within the IB PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program) framework as the main vehicle for student learning in relevant, real-world contexts. Through experience and discovery, students gain knowledge, skills and understanding so that they can contribute positively to their future communities. Teachers of core subjects are internationally experienced educators.

The school persists in a quality first development strategy. The primary school department has admitted two classes for 2018, one for Chinese with 15 students, and the other for foreigners with 11 students. Up to the 2018 fall semester, the school had seven staff members, including four Chinese and three foreign teachers.

Chinese teachers have either overseas higher degrees or overseas teaching experience. Among the foreign teachers, three hold master's degrees or higher. A permanent campus will be put into use in early 2019 and the school currently operates temporarily on Hanyu Primary School campus.
