Zhejiang International Maritime College

Zhejiang International Maritime College is located in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province. It is a vocational and technical college that focuses on marine engineering, ship engineering, port logistics and marine tourism.

The school was established in February 2004, and was approved by the provincial government and officially established by the Ministry of Education in 2006.

The school currently has a construction area of over 110,000 square meters. More than 6,000 full-time students are pursuing education at eight colleges specializing in nautical engineering, ship engineering, port management, marine tourism, international education, petrochemicals, social sciences and Donghai Education College.

The school’s curriculum covers 23 specialties, such as open navigation technology, marine engineering technology and aircraft mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance.

The school has established cooperative relationships with Hong Kong Shipowners Association, and become a member of the International Association of Maritime Teachers and the Asia-Pacific Association of Shipping Colleges. Singapore Wanbang Group, China Ocean Shipping Group, Yangfan Group and many other well-known enterprises at home and abroad have also established relationships with the college.

So far, more than 2,500 graduates have been working for renowned global shipping companies, such as Hong Kong Oriental Overseas Container Shipping Co Ltd.

Zhejiang International Maritime College also promotes international exchanges and cooperation with maritime colleges, such as Ukrainian Makarov National Shipbuilding University, to create a platform for students to study abroad.
