According to the deal, the two sides will establish a senior leadership level negotiation mechanism and a joint task force to drive the development of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Pilot Free Trade Zone, and carry out cooperation and exchange in many areas.

"We have five action plans and 19 matchmaking activities to carry out, covering business, trade, technology and culture," said an official from Zhoushan Putuo.

In terms of talent exchange, for example, the two sides will strengthen communication among executives of State-owned enterprises and organize high-level talents to conduct project cooperation, according to the official.

He also added that job fairs will be held in Shanghai Putuo to attract local college graduates to work at or start a business in Zhoushan Putuo.

While strengthening ties with Shanghai Putuo, Zhoushan Putuo plans to explore cooperation opportunities with other districts in Shanghai in the future to contribute to the integration of the Yangtze River Delta.
