The Children’s Hospital of Nanjing Medical University is a large comprehensive 3A-grade hospital –– the highest rating in China's three-tier grading system for public hospitals.
It integrates various functions such as healthcare, scientific research, education, and rehabilitation.
By the end of 2018, the hospital employed a total of 2,364 members of staff, including 12 doctoral supervisors and 87 master supervisors.
Currently the hospital runs two campuses in Nanjing, one on Guangzhou Road and the other one in the Hexi area. The resources and facilities of the two campuses are fully utilized to provide a comprehensive range of services for patients.
The campus on Guangzhou Road is home to all departments for internal medicine, as well as four surgery departments, and the otolaryngology department. Other specialties such as a neonatal medical center, child healthcare department, rehabilitation department and special hospital ward are also available there.
The other campus in Nanjing’s Hexi area contains the rest of the surgery departments and four internal medicine departments –– cardiovascular medicine, infectious diseases, neurology, and pneumology.
The hospital employs 26 clinical specialists, including one at national level, 12 at provincial level and 14 at municipal level.
The hospital work closely with charity organizations and saved the lives of 335 patients in 2018, with various charity organizations contributing funds toward total treatment costs of 9.14 million yuan ($1.36 million).
