Quzhou GDP up 7.2 percent in 2018

Quzhou's GDP recorded 7.2 percent annual increase at comparable prices in 2018, according to the news conference held by the municipal government on Feb 22.

The figure was 147 billion yuan ($21.31 billion), of which primary, secondary and tertiary industries took up 5.5 percent, 45 percent and 49.5 percent respectively.

The agricultural sector in the city witnessed stable performance in 2018. The local government ramped up its efforts to revitalize rural areas by transforming rural residences, improving rural appearance and exploring new commercial activities for its countrymen.

Its industrial sector posted rapid growth last year with added value surging up by 9.2 percent to 55.31 billion yuan.

The service sector in Quzhou maintained a stable 7 percent increase over the same period, which can be contributed to the various activities held in Quzhou, including the triathlon, the China Root Carving Culture and Arts Festival and Free to Tour Quzhou Attractions for Overseas Tourists.

The city's urban and rural per capita disposable income in the year reached 43,126 yuan and 22,255 yuan, respectively, with a year-on-year increase of 9 percent and 10 percent, the news conference said.
