Jinan cuisine, also known as Lixia cuisine, is one of the four schools of Shandong cuisine. It dates back to the Spring and Autumn period. The cuisine usually uses deep frying, roasting, boiling and stir frying, and excels at sweet dishes and soups.
Braised intestines in brown sauce, rose and pear croquettes, Shanghe horseshoe-shaped shaobing, and creamed rush shoot slices are recommended dishes for you to try in Jinan.
Tai'an, renowned for Chinese cabbage, tofu and Mount Tai spring water, is more adept at cooking vegetable dishes than other renowned places in Shandong.
The dishes, including Mount Tai tofu feast and mushroom banquet, are good choices.
Qufu in Jining
Smoked bean curd, Confucius pastries, and pancakes are the most recommended dishes in Qufu.
