A delegation of reporters from across Fujian, East China embarked on a tour of the province's grass-roots development in Taining county, Sanming city on Feb 13.

The tour is an answer to the central government's call to promote local grassroots development and introduce more local stories to the general public. It is also intended to display the local achievements over the 40 years since China initiated the reform and opening-up policy and to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
