Eastern Industry Zone, which is 30 kilometers from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, is the only overseas economic and trade cooperative zone in the country at national level.

Eastern Industry Zone was mainly invested in by Jiangsu Yongyuan Investment Co Ltd, which is based in Suzhou’s Zhangjiagang city.

Founded in 2007, the zone has been treated with great importance by both the Chinese and Ethiopian governments, and has received guidance and support from governments at many levels.

Since its inauguration, the zone has been developing industries such as textiles, leather, agriculture products processing, metallurgy, building materials and the electromechanical sector.

Themed on the export-oriented manufacturing and processing industry, the zone is expected to become a comprehensive industrial park managing areas such as industry, business, living and leisure, along with functions such as import and export trade, resource development, bonded warehouses, logistics and transport, storage and distribution, and product exhibitions.
