Quzhou greets 1.8m visitors during Spring Festival holiday

Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province welcomed roughly 1.8 million tourists during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, an uptick of 8.17 percent year-on-year, with tourism revenue up by 11.38 percent to 1.18 billion yuan ($171 million), according to Quzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism.

The key scenic spots, including the city's nationally highest-rated 5A and 4A scenic spots, received more than 970,000 visitors, up by 43.9 percent year-on-year, with Shuiting Gate the most popular destination.

During the seven-day holiday, more than 600,000 tourists visited the ancient architectural complex, a 47.53 percent year-on-year increase.

Statistics show that visitors from Jinhua, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Jiangxi province took the lion's share of the total number of visitors in Quzhou. There were also many visitors from Anhui, Jiangsu, Hunan and Fujian provinces.
