In order to further improve government services and bring more convenience to local residents, work has begun to upgrade Yangzhou government hotline 12345 to provide more functions and be available 24 hours a day.

12345 is the government hotline to offer services for local residents and handle people's complaints as an extension of the government's functions.

After upgrading, six platforms are expected to be set up to offer more services, including ones for overseeing government service efficiency, handling complaints about government services, publicizing the services available and handling complaints and irregularities in a business environment.

Taking the platform for handling complaints and irregularities in a business environment as an example, the public will be able to communicate via various channels such as Wechat, Weibo and the official website in addition to calling 12345 to voice their complaints and their suggestions.

A special telephone service will also be launched to help companies and citizens in government review and approval processes. "People will no longer need to waste time going to the government offices for further information, they only need to dial 12345", said a local official.
