Located in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province, Dongbei Special Steel Group Co Ltd (DSSC) was formed in September 2004 as a recombination from Dalian Special Steel (founded in 1905), Fushun Special Steel (founded in 1937) and Beiman Special Steel (founded in 1952).

DSSC has been the leading provider in China’s special steel market for many years, engaging in research, development and manufacturing of quality, high value-added special steel products for hi-tech fields.

The group's pillar products include special alloys, ultra-high strength steel, stainless steel rods and wires, high-strength building materials, and automotive steel.

In recent years, the group has been a provider of many special steel new materials for China's major projects in fields such as spacecraft, lunar exploration, aircraft, nuclear power and wind power, high-speed railways and oil exploitation.

DSSC boasts three production bases, namely Dalian Special Steel, Fushun Special Steel and Beiman Special Steel, and has set up subsidiaries in places such as Shandong province, Shanghai and Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The group also attaches much significance to international cooperation, and has established partnerships with world-leading enterprises in technical transformation, new technology development, quality management and product market expansion.

More than 80 types of products made by the group are supplied to around 40 countries and regions in the world, including the United States, Germany, Italy, Australia and Japan.
