High-tech industry

Jiangsu province has been developing its high-tech industry in recent years by implementing innovation-driven strategies and accelerating supply-side structural reform.

The total output value of high-tech industries from January to June 2017 was 3.58 trillion yuan ($519.36 billion), a year-on-year increase of 12.72 percent.

Meanwhile the output value of high-tech industries in the first half of 2018 increased year-on-year by 7.6 percent, accounting for 43.5 percent of total output value by industrial enterprises with an annual industrial output value above 20 million yuan, a year-on-year growth of 1.8 percent.

The value added of high-tech industries from January to June 2018 achieved year-on-year growth of 10.6 percent, 4.4 percent higher than that of industrial enterprises with an annual industrial output value above 20 million yuan.

The total investment in high-tech industries in the first half of 2018 increased by 13.3 percent, a growth of 2.5 percent year-on-year and accounting for 14.9 percent of total investment in Jiangsu province.
