Six AI (artificial intelligence) projects made the final round of the Second Global Marine Economy Entrepreneurship Competition of China Zhejiang Zhoushan Archipelago New Area after a contest in Hangzhou on July 18.

The six projects were chosen from a total of 20 to advance to the final round, which will be held in October.

The awarding ceremony was held at Hangzhou Yuexiu Victoria Centre where the officials from Zhoushan also introduced the Zhoushan Archipelago New Area and its Marine Industry Cluster Area to guests, extending an invitation for high-end talents to settle in the area.

The competition at the Hangzhou stop was mainly dedicated to attracting high-end AI talents to start businesses in Zhoushan and promoting the city's innovative and entrepreneurial environment in Hangzhou.

There will be another identical competition in Shenzhen, Guangdong province. The competition is open to all high-end talents under the age of 55 and with a master's degree or above. Anyone who specializes in applying cutting-edge AI technologies and has the intention of starting a business in Zhoushan is welcome to take part.

The winners in the final, which will be composed of participants from three other fields in addition to AI, will receive financial support from the Zhoushan government, and will benefit from supporting policies as well as follow-up services if they are successfully put into operation within a year.
