Yantai Nanshan University is a private undergraduate university founded in 1991. It is invested by Nanshan Group, a large-scale privately-owned joint-time enterprise, one of the top 500 enterprises in China.

Located in Longkou, a coastal city in Yantai, Shandong province, the college is adjacent to Nanshan Scenic Area, a national AAAAA Scenic Spot. It covers an area of 3,428 mu (2,285,333.3 square meters) with a building area of 860,000 square meters.

The university consists of six sub-colleges, Engineering College, Humanities College, Business College, Aviation College, Music College and Health College, among which, Aviation College, Music College and Health College are more distinctive.
