China’s national health watchdog has sent medical staff to Liuzhou, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region for diagnosis and health promotion.

Medical specialists from Beijing wrapped up their two-day visit to Rongshui county in Liuzhou on Jan 18, having offered free checks and health lectures to local villagers.

They introduced prevention and treatment of local common digestive, respiratory, and cardiovascular diseases.

Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and director of the Health Care Reform Office under the State Council, attended the event, calling for specialists to provide more health solutions for local villagers.

He also visited some poverty-stricken patients in Rongshan village of Yongle township.

Wang learned that the sick have joined the health poverty alleviation program and have access to family doctor service. In addition, their reimbursement rate of medical expenses has greatly increased.
