Inner Mongolia Baotou Jiuyuan Industrial Park

Inner Mongolia Baotou Jiuyuan Industrial Park (内蒙古包头九原工业园区) is located in the city’s Jiuyuan district. Founded in April 2006, it is a region-level industrial park with a planning area of around 80 square kilometers.

The park has advantages with abundant minerals, water, electricity and land resources. It also has convenient transportation links with connections to Nanraocheng Highway and the Baotou-Lanzhou Railway, providing speedy and convenient logistics services.

Core industries in the park include the coal chemical industry, clean energy industry, machinery manufacturing industry, and metallurgical industry.

One of the major industrial projects in the park is Shenhua coalification project, which attracted a total investment of 16.6 billion yuan ($2.51 billion) and began construction in May 2007,  promoting development of coalification industrial clusters and other industries.

In 2014, the park’s revenue was 21.02 billion yuan, an increase of 16.6 percent compared with the previous year.
