Nansha ETDZ has seen rapid development in advanced manufacturing industries such as auto, ship and heavy equipment, as well as modern service industries including shipping logistics, scientific innovation, service outsourcing and leisure tourism. It has focused on promoting the eight industries of port logistics, auto, machinery equipment, shipbuilding, steel, petrochemical, grain logistics and processing and electronic information.
The zone is one of the country's top three shipbuilding bases, a national manufacturing and export base for autos and components, and a nuclear power manufacturing base in Pearl River Delta region. It has attracted a number of Global Fortune 500 companies.
